For unparalleled wrinkle reduction and improvements in skin tone and texture.
What is Contour TRL™ Laser Peel?
The Contour TRL™ Laser Peel is widely regarded as the safest, most effective laser available. As we age, the effects of sun damage and environmental pollutants take their toll on our skin, creating wrinkles and pigment irregularities, especially on our face. A Laser Peel can be very successful at reducing or eliminating these conditions especially around the mouth and eyes.
How does it work?
Contour TRL™ Laser Peel safely removes a layer of skin to a depth determined by Dr. Swengel and his laser staff. The depth of the treatment depends on your skin condition, your desired outcome, and expectation for downtime.
Treating your skin with a laser stimulates the growth of new collagen, which improves the skin’s thickness and resilience. The skin surface will also re-grow with fresh, healthy cells, which give you a younger rejuvenated appearance.
What conditions does it treat?
- Deep Wrinkles
- Poor Skin Tone and Texture
- Sun Spots
- Actinic Keratoses
What areas of the body can be treated with Contour TRL™ Laser Peel?
Several areas of your body can be treated, though most commonly treated areas are the face and the neck.
How many treatments will I need?
Since the skin resurfacing Contour TRL™ Laser Peel is a deep peel, excellent results are typically achieved after one treatment.
What will happen during the procedure?
Your skin will be cleaned and your eyes protected with safety shields. Dr. Swengel and his laser staff, will position the laser handpiece above the skin and will hold it in place as the computer-guided scanner moves the laser beam around the treatment area. Depending on the size of the area being treated, the procedure lasts 15 to 30 minutes.
Is Contour TRL™ Laser Peel comfortable?
The comfort level of laser resurfacing varies from patient to patient and depends largely on the depth of the treatment. For shallow treatments, the procedure is often tolerated by topical anesthetic. For deeper treatments, a subcutaneous local anesthetic might be required.
What should you expect immediately after treatment?
You can experience redness and swelling and a sensation that feels like a sunburn. Swelling may occur in the treated areas. We will provide you with specific after-treatment care recommendations, which may include analgesics and application of an ointment to keep your skin moist.
How long will it take to recover?
Complete healing will depend largely on the depth of your treatment.
Shallow treatments are typically 3-4 days before you can resume normal activities. For deeper treatments, you can discuss realistic expectations with Dr. Swengel and his laser staff.
What type of results should I expect?
The top layer of your skin will re-grow and can be covered with make-up in about one week. You will see noticeable improvement in your skin’s texture, tone, and wrinkle appearance.
Deeper laser treatments also stimulate the growth of new collagen over the next 4 to 6 months. During this time, your skin may show increasing improvements in tightness and resilience.
